O.k. guys get ready to burn some fat.
This is an INTENSE 6 minute full body workout that will work your entire body.
This challenge is a great to do if you are short on time and you want to get in a fast, effective workout that is going to hit your entire body and give you a great overall workout.
Your muscles will be fatigued as well as your metabolic system tested with this one.
This can also be used as a great metabolic finisher circuit after a short intense heavy lifting day.
The exercise we are doing today is called a Man Maker,(ladies don’t let the name keep you from doing this) this is a powerful compound exercise that combines a few different movements into one and is equally effective for men or women.
Pick a weight that is going to be challenging enough to test you but allow you to keep pushing through the entire six minutes.
If you are using this as a workout finisher, you will probably already be fatigued so you may want to lighten up the weight.
The weight you choose depends on your strength and fitness levels so it may take a trial run to see how you feel and then adjust the weight the next time you do this challenge.
Make sure you warm up before starting.
Even though this is a 6 minute challenge make sure that you warm up for at least 5 minutes.
Also run through 6-8 reps of this exercise with about 50-60% of the weight you are going to use for the workout to get the proper form and flow of the movement.
This is also a great way to test how your fitness levels are progressing. Do this challenge once every 30 days to gauge your improvement.
You will see that you’ll be able to push out more reps in this time and that you will also increase your weight at the same time.
On this challenge I used 25 pound and was able to do 25 reps in 6 minutes. I felt good during the challenge (this was my goal) and feel I could have pushed myself a bit harder so I will move the weight up to 30 pounds and shoot for more than 25 reps the next time I take on this challenge.
Record your weight and reps so you can gauge your progress going forward.
It is the little challenges like this that really keep you motivated, you have to continually set new goals and test yourself to beat them.
